YIN YOGA!

Have you heard of such a thing? Yin Yoga opens up the deep, dense, rarely touched tissues of the body, relative to the more superficial yang tissues of muscles and skin. More on it at: http://www.yinyoga.com/ Anyway, the class is amazing. And it hurts so good. Cross trained this evening, walked the Running Buddy (RB) (Bentley) around the park after. Last night 30 minutes on the treadmill at the gym - it was raining cats, dogs, racoons and mice last night. Needed to be sure RB was dry and warm, so missed track training with the (TNT) buddies at Stanford.

Pilates!

Core training tonight. Run with the Running Buddy (Bentley) on Saturday. Rain rain rain this week! Facial yesterday.... part of the training schedule. (Not!)
Found this great list entitled '40 Things Every Woman Runner Should Know About Running." Tip #1: Running is a state of mind. The only thing that determines your success or lack of success, is the way you think about your running. The list can be found at: www.womens-running.com

2.51 Miles
Team training at the track last night - couldn't figure out the Garmin 405 running watch, but heard we ran about 2.51 miles. Felt like 5. Relays, laps, warm ups, core practice. Charlie had the hot tub warmed up for post work-out....think I'll marry that man!

Motivation Weak Yesterday
Last night after sitting in an hour of traffic on 680, I wasn't much in the mood to run the treadmill at the gym at 8 PM. But who inspired me to go? - but my wonderful husband, who which I had to initially drag to the gym a few months ago, by setting him up with his own membership. Ran for 40 minutes!

Saturday Run at Baylands, Mountain View
Ran 4 miles! No casualties....though a bit sore. Nutrition clinic after - found out that Cheetos for breakfast may not be the best race day breakfast (damn!) The Bayland trails are beautiful - and it was a perfect day for running! Though hundreds of geese....and it's 'that' (mating) season....one question; do geese mate for life?!

Monday - Pilates!
I still can't breathe, so I am taking the opportunity to cross-train. Today was Pilates class. If nothing else, I'll have rock solid abs... Gonna lay off until the antibiotics finish up and back on the track with the team on Thursday.

First Post
Thursday was the first training run at the Stanford track....I'm impressed that the coaches can help and inspire us. My mentor Joo Tanaka is a crazy woman. Good thing. This weekend I ran Saturday and Sunday...they tell us to only run 3 days a week to start but this running thing is in my blood, so I'll try to taper back!
